The Basics of Fetal Health Surveillance

Overview

Welcome to Perinatal Nursing!
Fetal Health Surveillance is a course all perinatal nurses must complete to work in the hospital’s labour and delivery unit. It is mandatory for all perinatal nurses and must be re-certified every two years. The course focuses on reading and understanding fetal heart rates during labour.
With an interactive activity, this activity aims to engage new perinatal nurses or those interested in becoming one. The activity will explain the basic parts of fetal heart rate tracing. There will be interactive questions at the end.

Activity

In this activity, students will watch a short video introducing the basic components of fetal health surveillance. Following the video is a quiz.
